WHAT TO EXPECT
Pixel Perfect Erbium Laser treatments are safe and effective, without injections or surgery and provides a gradual process for treating acne. This innovative laser permeates your skin with microscopic, thermal channels. Each channel creates a "micro-injury" which destroys bacteria without disturbing the surrounding tissue. This allows your skin's top layer to heal from the edge of these tiny holes very rapidly. This healing process stimulates new collagen growth which allows your skin to create healthy, new tissue to replace the imperfections. As the laser is pulsed over your face, you may feel a "hot pinch" or "snapping" sensation that only lasts a fraction of a second. You can expect your skin to be flushed and red after the treatment, similar to a sunburn; you may experience flaking on days 3-7. Since this treatment actually pulls bacteria to the surface of your skin, there may be some mild transient worsening of the acne before it improves. These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process. Be sure to increase the amount of water you drink for several days prior to this treatment. Since this is an Erbium laser, clients with more moisture in their skin will experience more sensation and greater results in fewer treatments; a patient with dry skin may require more treatments. Cooling ice packs will be used after your treatment to remove the heat sensation. The number of treatments required to achieve optimum results will be determined by your skin's condition; treatments can be scheduled 2-4 weeks apart. Once treatments are complete, you will notice improved texture of your skin, more even color and a more youthful skin tone, results will continue to improve over 6 months. THINGS TO KNOW
Pixel Perfect Erbium Laser
- Drink plenty of water both before and after your treatments.
- For the first 48 hours after your treatment you should apply an occlusive gel such as Aquaphor to the treated area.
- After 48 hours, you should moisturize your skin with a heavy moisturizer; after day 2, mineral make-up can be applied.
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and tanning creams for at least 2 weeks before and after your treatment.
- 2 weeks after your treatment, avoid sun exposure unless you are wearing SPF 30 or greater.
- Your skin’s condition will determine the number of treatments to achieve maximum efficacy.
- Avoid excessive heat such as saunas or heavy exercise.
- Make-up is not recommended for the first 24 hours; after that time, mineral make-up is suggested.
- EpiSound™ Facials one week after your treatment will enhance the appearance of your skin by exfoliating dry skin and releasing any impurities below the surface of your skin.
